1684     Will of William Frost

 

In the name of God Amen I William Frost the Elder of Waldringfeild in the County of Suff[olk]

Yeoman beinge in health of body and of a sound disposing minde and memory thanks be given

to Allmighty God for the same doe make this my last will and testament in mann[er] following

First I commend my soul into the hands of Allmighty God who gave itt me trusting through the

mercys of my Lord Christ to receive a blessed resurrection, and my body I commit to the

earth to be Christian like buryed in decent man[ner], And for what Estate  itt hath pleased God

to blesse me with all in this world i give and dispose thereof as followeth, Imprimmis

I give and bequeath unto my three daughters Hannah Frost, Sarah Frost & Mary Frost

to each and every of them the sume of tenn pounds appp??  of lawfull money of England to be

paid them by my Executors thereafter named, att theire severall and respective ages of one

& twenty years, And my minde and will is that such of my daughters as shall have

attained to theire ages of one and twenty years att the tyme of my death shall be paid theire s[ai]d

legacys within

six months next after my decease, And if any of my said Daughters shall happen

to depart this life, before they attaine to theire said ages of one and twenty yeers

then my minde and will is, that her their legacy, soe dyinge shall be equally devided between

My other twoe daughters, p[ar]te& p[ar]te  alike, and if any twoe of them should happen

to dye before theire legacys become due & payable as aforesaid, then my will is that

the surviving daughter shall have the whole legacys. Item I give unto my sonne William Frost

my coate and britches  whith? —- the islate? buttons on them, to be delivered by

my executor within tenn days next after my decease.  Item I give and bequeath unto

Mary my loving wife one bed bedstead with the coverlette blankets Curtains vallantes

as itt stand furnished w[i]ch she usually lye on, and my mind and will further is that

the said Mary my wife shall have and enjoye all those goods and chattels w[i]ch were given

her by her Mother, Item I give and bequeath unto Richard Frost my sonn all the rest

and residue of my goods chattles moveable, Billy Rouds debts, ready moneys & p[er]sonall  Estate

whatsoev[er] and wheresoev[er] for and towards the paym[en]t of my just debts And the legacys

aforesaid fun[er]all charges and probate of this my will And I doe make nominate

and appointe the said Richard Frost my sonn sole executor of this my last will & Testam[en]t

and I doe hereby nominate and appoint my trusty and  well laud beloved friend

Richard Marvin of Rushmere in ye said County yeoman to be supervisor of this said

last will and soe revoking all form[er] wills by me made, do publish & declare

this to be my last will and testam[en]t , In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my

hand and seale this 10th day of March in ye first yeare of the reign of our sovereign

Lord King James the second over England etc   And in the yeere of our Lord God

One  thousand six hundred eighty and fower

William Frost – had wife Mary, 3 daughters  Hannah, Sarah & Mary & one son William who among other things inherited Coat & Britches with buttons!

Was Richard a second son as well as sole executor?
