I did a search for the name cwengifu and came up with this and in the appendix starting with p105 it talks about Queen’s estates in later anglo saxon England. From the table it seems to indicate that in 1086 Cwengifu held her estate as a tenant originally from Queen Æthelflæd of Damerham, wife of Edmund. This is only an appendix and I haven’t gone back to check the earlier pages in the book as yet.
Also found this text from wikipedia on sir Anthony Wingfield
“Anthony Wingfield (d.1593), esquire, who married firstly Katherine Blennerhassett (d.1558), widow of John Gosnold (d.1554) of Shrubland Park in Barham, Suffolk, and daughter of Sir Thomas Blennerhassett of Frenze, Norfolk,[12] secondly Jane Purpett (d.1562), daughter of Edmund Purpett of the manor of Waldingfield, and thirdly Elizabeth Leeche, the daughter of Ralph Leeche of Chatsworth, Derbyshire.”
This is presumably interesting as John Gosnold is connected to Bartolomew Gosnold (Gt nephew) of Otley and Grundisburgh who took the first ships and settlers out to Jamestown in Virginia with another of the Wingfield family. They also were shareholders of the Virginia company.
