The Manor of
Waldringfield and Hilton
Be it remembered that on the third – day of November
in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen
John Paine of Tuddenham near Mildenhall in the County of Suffolk
Farmer a Copyhold Tenant of the said Manor and Miriam his Wife
came before me James Wenn Gentleman Steward of the
Courts of the said Manor and for an in Consideration of the Sum of
eighteen pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to the said John
Paine at or before the passing of this present Surrender in hand paid
by Thomas Waller of Sutton in the said County Esquire in full for the
absolute purchase of the Copyhold Hereditaments comprised in the same
Surrender and she the said Miriam having been by me the said
Steward first examined separately and apart from the said John
Paine her husband touching her Consent to the making and passing such
Surrender and freely and voluntarily consenting thereto did out of Court
surrender by the Rod out of their hands into the hands of the Lord of the
said Manor by the hands and acceptance of me the said Steward according
to the Custom thereof All and every the Lands tenements and Hereditaments
whatsoever of him the said John Paine holden of the said Manor by Copy of
Court roll with the Appurtenances And the Reversion and Reversions
Remainder and Remainders thereof And all the Estate Right Title
Interest Property Possession Claim and Demand whatsoever of them
the said John Paine and Miriam his Wife and each of them of into or
out of the same Premises or any part or parcel thereof To the only and
absolute Use and Behoof of the said Thomas Waller his Heirs and
Assigns forever
