The Manor of Rivers Hall in Waldringfield
Be it remembered that on the seventh day of December
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty seven John Perry of Falkenham in the County of
Suffolk yeoman and Frances his wife and James Perry
of Waldringfield in the said County farmer a widower
Copyhold or Customary tenant of the said Manor came
before me Richard William Porter Gentleman Steward
of the said Manor And for and in Consideration of the
sum of sixty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain
to the said John Perry (at the request and by the direction
of the said James Perry testified by his signing his name
at the foot of this surrender) in hand well and truly
paid by Henry Canham the elder of Waldringfield –
aforesaid yeoman at or before the making and passing
this present surrender in full for the absolute purchase
of the hereditaments intended to be hereby surrendered and
of the customary inheritance in fee thereof free from
incumbrances except quitrent and the suits and services
payable and to be performed in respect of the tenure
thereof And did out of court surrender out of their and
either of their hands into the hands of the Lord of the said
Manor by the hands and acceptance of me the said
Steward by the rod according to the custom of the said
Manor (she the said Frances having been
by me the said Steward separately and apart from her
husband first examined touching her free and
voluntary consent to the making and passing this
surrender and freely and voluntarily consenting thereto
As the law requires) All that piece or parcel of arable land
heretofore meadow and called Brenny Meadow otherwise
Honey meadow lying in Waldringfield aforesaid
heretofore estimated to contain three roods but found
on recent survey to contain one acre three roods

and seventy one perches lying between the land heretofore
of Mary Woolnough and now of the said Henry Canham
on the part of the west and land heretofore of the said Mary
Woolnough and now of Robert Lacey on the part of the east
abutting upon Freehold land heretofore of the said Mary
Woolnough and now sold by the said James Perry to the
said Henry Canham towards the South west and upon land
of the said Robert Lacey towards the north holden of the said
Manor by copy of Court roll and the apportioned rent of
two shillings and four pence with the rights members
and appurtenances thereunto belonging And the
reversion and reversions remainder and remainders
writs issues and profits thereof And all the estate right
title use interest inheritance property possession claim
and demand whatsoever both at law and in equity of
them the said John Perry and Frances his wife and
James Perry and each and every of them of in to or
out of the said hereditaments and premises intended
to be hereby surrendered and every part and parcel
thereof To the only and absolute use and behoof of
Harry Canham (son of the said Henry Canham) his heirs
and Assigns for ever At the will of the Lord and according
tot the custom of the said Manor
