War Service Not known except that he was a Private in the 9th Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment from 1914-20, which included service on the Western Front in France. He is also rather unusually recorded as having served also with the 7th, 8th and 4th Battalions. |

Connection to Waldringfield Stanley was born in Waldringfield on 8 Feb 1894 to Thomas and Elizabeth Bloomfield (nee Farrow) and by 1911 at the age of 17 is a brick labourer living in River View Terrace, Waldringfield with his parents and elder brother William. He was baptised in All Saints Church on 4 March 1894. His parents continued to live at River View Cottages until at least 1939. |

Life after the War In 1920 Stanley married Agnes Northcott in Woodbridge and appears to have moved away from the village. By 1939 he and Agnes are living in Gipping and he is working as a chauffeur and gardener. He died in 1974 aged 80 and they are both buried at Colchester cemetery. |
