Extract from The Perrenial Diary of the Rev. Thomas Henry Waller 1832-1920. Born at White Hall Waldringfield 16. May 1832 died at Rivers Hall. Rector of Waldringfield 1862 to 1905.

  • 22November 1903 High tide with NW. wind breaching the river walls and flowing to Shottisham Ford as 29th. November 1897. HW. about 1.45 a.m
  • 29. November 1897. Shottisham Ford wall near Ramsholt Creek afterwards repaired for £1,100.00 with sandbags & again 22/11/1903 .. broken thro.
  • 20. December 1897 High tide with gale, water nearly up to below Deben Vale & great flooding all along the coast.
